In this article we will discuss more about this.
So first of all, what does these terms mean? This term, is the method used by people to identify the different type of backrest heights of the chair. The 'higher' the backrest, the taller the backrest will be.
But why are the need for so many chair height sizes, wouldn't one be enough? From an ergonomic perspective, a higher chair backrest would be more beneficial to the consumer, as the taller and wider backrest would be able to provide the consumer with better neck, shoulder and back support. This gives consumers a higher level of comfort and worth in health in the long run.
From the practical perspective, the chair's height has more factors to consider. While the higher backrest would ensure better comfort, it may bring inconvenience, such as obstructing the view. For example, imagine a new counter layout is being planned for the office, with the intention to let employees receive and seat customers down to help them with their queries. The room will be packed with new customers arriving every minute, so to ensure good and fast service, excellent efficiency is needed. In this scenario, a lower chair height for the customers' chair would be recommended, so the employee situated at the counter can quickly scan the surroundings to check if there are any more customers to serve without obstruction. Such scenarios are common when planning to get a new chair, so smart decisions must be made.
In Benithem, we have 3 different chair size categories: High Back, Mid Back and Low Back. Most of our chairs are available in all 3 categories, with only some available in all except Low Back.

For High Back chairs, the difference between it and the Mid Back option would be the additional adjustable or fixed headrest, which allows consumers to rest their heads on when tired. This would also discourage people from slouching since they now can lean on a full back support. With these benefits, the High Back option is best suited for people who sit for extended periods of time, for people who are taller, and for those who are suffering from back or neck aches.
Mid Back chairs are the most popular choice amongst consumers for their versatility and flexibility. This option has also the biggest range of options to choose from as this is the most common size, so consumers has the luxury of choice. They provide good enough ergonomic support for consumers without taking up too much space. so therefore the Mid Back option is the best fit for all sorts of workstations and offices, and suitable for almost anyone to sit on.

For the Low Back option, compared to the other 2 sizes it is not as popular, but in its own category they are a unique choice. They don't give much ergonomic back support, so users will tend to lean forward onto the table for stability, resulting in them to focus on the task or person across them even more. Due to the smaller size, they would not be as overwhelming and towering, making it perfect for people who intend to move around a lot, or who are petite in size.
Chair height comparisons are interesting to know about, and the different experiences it brings to the user makes them worth the price. A final word of advice, do not get blinded by the aesthetics, get a chair that suits the environment and and your needs, otherwise it would be a disappointing purchase.
